Safety is an important consideration for this event. We are concerned not only for the safety of participants, but also the safety of volunteers, judges, and guests of the fair. Our parent organization, Youth Science Canada, has strict safety requirements for the national level.
In keeping with these national level safety requirements, the Regina Regional Science Fair has adopted many of these national level requirements in order to minimize risk to all people in the exhibit hall. As part of the registration process, you will have to fill out a safety form. Please ensure that you read this form carefully and make sure your project meets the requirements. Additionally if you’re project involves experimenting with or on humans, vertebrate animals, or cephalopods, you need an ethics review. Please visit the Ethics section for more information before registering.
Project displays that do not meet the requirements will be modified by safety officers on-site on the day of the fair before being allowed to continue participation. Participants will not be penalized; however, we also understand that matters of safety overrule all others, especially where hundreds of children and youth will be involved. Please consult the following FAQ for ways to avoid potential safety issues.

Please make every effort to input a description of your work in the project description section in English. This summary only needs to be a couple sentences long, detailing what you were testing or designing (you do not have to detail your results). The chief judge uses this information to assign you judges in your subject area. If this section is left blank, you will be assigned judges at random. This will likely lower the quality of your learning because the judge may not have significant feedback on a project that is out of their subject area. In addition, if the judge has not fully understood your project, it could also lower your rank for awards.
