About

The Regina Regional Science Fair is an annual event which brings together students from grades 5 to 12 in Regina and some surrounding communities to present their science projects to a judging base comprised of members of the scientific and professional communities. During this full-day event, students participate in a variety of science activities, and they also have the opportunity to present their work to judges and members of the community, as well as compete for prizes. The Regina Regional Science Fair is one of 11 regional science fairs in Saskatchewan associated with SASFI (Saskatchewan Association of Science Fairs Incorporated) that feed into the Canada-Wide Science Fair.

The study and enjoyment of science is not only the compilation of what others have done before us. It is a process through which we develop our appreciation of the subtleties of nature. In science we learn what questions to ask and propose how to address them. Science fairs are one way to allow students to explore science and develop a deeper understanding in an area of personal interest. Classroom or school science fairs are a logical starting point. For students who wish to go further, regional competitions are a possible next step.
