CWSF 2026 is over. The display boards have come down at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. Our finalists have flown home, heading straight back into the last weeks of school, final exams, and whatever comes next. Summer is right around the corner. The STEM fair season is officially closed.
In three weeks, 393 young scientists will walk into the Edmonton EXPO Centre carrying months of work and a particular mix of nerves and anticipation in their chests.
A few years ago, each of them set up a project board at a regional STEM fair somewhere in Canada. This month, all eight are heading to Phoenix to represent the country at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
There’s something about January that makes us think about fresh starts. New notebooks. Blank calendars. The feeling that anything is possible this year.
