Regional Fairs

The Foundation of Canada’s STEM Fair Network

Youth Science Canada supports over 100 affiliated regional STEM fairs across every province and territory. These community-organized events are where most students first experience the thrill of presenting their work to an engaged audience.

What happens at regional fairs:

  • Students present their projects to volunteer judges from scientific and professional communities
  • Participants receive constructive feedback and encouragement
  • Awards and recognition celebrate achievement across all project categories
  • Top projects are invited to advance to the Canada-Wide Science Fair

The impact: Over 10,000 students participate in regional fairs annually, gaining presentation skills, scientific thinking abilities, and confidence that serves them far beyond science class.

Regional fairs are typically held between February and April, with registration opening in the fall. Each fair is independently organized by dedicated volunteers who believe in the power of youth innovation.

Regional Fair Finder

Find your regional fair using the map below. Select a province or territory to narrow your search.

To be eligible for CWSF (our national fair), students must enter their project in the regional science fair (RSF) that includes either your home or school address. In the case that there is no RSF offered in either location, you may apply to participate in the YSC Virtual Regional Fair or the RSF closest to you; acceptance of the project shall be at the discretion of the RSF organizers. If you’re doing a pair project and live or attend school in different YSC affiliated regions, you must choose one RSF to enter.
