Two-time CWSF medalist with eight years of experience in science fair:
- Solid background in science. Studying medicine at the University of Toronto and pursuing career as a clinician-scientist, won national science awards (Schulich Leader, Amgen Scholar), published first-author papers, presented at international conferences, and enrolled in concurrent graduate school research degree
- Extensive experience in national Leadership Committees (e.g. Canadian Medical Association, University Health Network, Schulich Foundation), Human Resources (admissions committees, constitution review committees), STEM Education (university curriculum development and teaching), Business (fundraising, managing university clubs), and Engineering/Project Management (managed/led multidisciplinary research projects and
national competition teams; received international and national robotics awards)
Personal experience gives insight into challenges faced by youth who are female, immigrants, minorities, and live in remote northern cities; mentored youth from these communities and passionate about engaging all youth in STEM, regardless of gender,culture, socioeconomic status, or geographic location
