Richard (Dick) Wilson worked in the communications profession for different industries and businesses in Alberta for 38 years, retiring in May 2006 from EnCana Corporation as Vice-President Public Affairs and Advisor, Office of the President. Dick began his Alberta career in 1967 as City Editor of Calgary’s morning newspaper, The Albertan. His industries have included petrochemical, coal, electric utility, advertising agency, communications technology, and finally oil and gas. He is a native of Sherbrooke, Quebec and attended Bishop’s University. Dick and his wife Nancy have two married children and five grandchildren. He was a recipient of the 2005 Alberta Centennial Medal and the Silver Medallion and was named a 2006 Mentor of the Year by the Canadian Youth Business Foundation. Dick continues to mentor younger people in life skills, their businesses or career development.
