About LIYSF

The London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) offers a two-week science summer camp in the UK, held both online and in-person, at Imperial College London & The Royal Geographical Society. Each year, 500 students aged 16-21 years old from 70 countries enjoy the 15-day STEM summer camp, with lectures and demonstrations from leading scientists, scientific visits to world-class laboratories and scientific universities, combined with international cultural interaction.

The in-person LIYSF fee, which includes accommodation, meals and the two-week program is £3,295 GBP (approximately CAD$5,900) plus return airfare, which you arrange yourself. Students can also participate in LIYSF virtually. The virtual LIYSF fee, which includes on-demand access to view content throughout the event including main lecture demonstrations and select scientific visit content, as well as online networking and live chat features, is £325.00 GBP per student.

The LIYSF organizing committee is offering Canadian students a £150 discount per student in-person attendees, and a £50 discount for virtual attendees.

Youth Science Canada is the designated LIYSF national organizer for managing Canadian applications; however, selected participants register and pay fees directly to LIYSF. YSC does not provide any logistical support or supervision for participants.

Application Process

The application process for Team Canada-LIYSF is different to a regional fair or the CWSF because Youth Science Canada is only involved in nominating interested Canadian students wishing to participate in LIYSF – all registration & payment is done directly with the LIYSF organizing committee. It is therefore very important that before expressing interest in attending the London International Youth Science Forum, students have discussed all details (in particular, the cost & travel requirements) with their parents/guardians.

To express interest in LIYSF, please complete this form by 11:59pm PT, 31st March 2025. Youth Science Canada will review all submissions and contact students within 2 weeks with further information. Please confirm that you have read all Frequently Asked Questions below before submitting your expression of interest form.
