Julia is the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF) Director, responsible for the planning and execution of YSC’s premier annual event. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick. In 2018, Julia completed her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Designation and is currently working on her Master of Business Administration. In her role as Fair Director, she can connect her passion for education with her love of event planning. After teaching for a few years Julia pursued an event planning career in Toronto. She worked as an intern with an exclusive wedding planner before landing a position in corporate event sales. Although she loved living and working in Toronto, she wanted to come home to the east coast. In addition to her role with YSC, Julia is the Owner & Principal Planner of Elm City Events. She believes firmly in creating an outstanding event experience for all attendees. Her hard work was rewarded in 2017 when she was named MPI Atlantic Canada’s Meeting Planner of the Year and then again in 2019 when she was named North America’s Professional of the Year with Unique Venues.
