Adam brings to the board of Youth Science Canada a broad interdisciplinary general management skillset, including as a systems thinker, and in the domains of program and project management, financial management, risk management, and human resources gained through over 20+ years directing and leading multi-million-dollar engineering programs within the public domain and working closely with the private sector.

Adam was trained and previously worked as a flight test engineer, verifying and validating new systems in flight. He has a deep appreciation of the scientific process, and the associated process of discovery. He is passionate about giving back and for providing opportunities for the next generation to learn, grow, excel, and thrive, and believe deeply in the mission of Youth Science Canada in providing those opportunities.

In addition, Adam brings with him varied experiences with civil service organizations. He currently serves on the audit committee of Le Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO), as the treasurer of the Ottawa Regional Science Fair, and as the treasurer of the National Captial Branch of the Canadian International Council. He has judged at the regional level since 2020, and at the Canada Wide Science Fair in 2024. Adam previously served on the Strategic Planning Committee of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute, and as the President of the Canadian Chapter of the Society of Flight Test Engineers.

Adam holds a Bachelor of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Honours from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Science in Flight Test and Evaluation from the National Test Pilot School, and a Master of Defence Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada. He is an alumnus of the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference. He holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.

Adam Emond currently serves as the Director, Fighters and Trainers within the Aerospace Equipment Program Management Division providing in-service support for the CF188 and CT114 fleets, RCAF Aviation Life Support Equipment and Aircraft Mobile Support Equipment, and several major capital projects including the Hornet Extension Program, and Air Weapons under North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Modernization.
