The Renfrew County Regional Science Fair was founded in 1980 and is currently open to all Grades 5 to 12 students in the Renfrew County District (Renfrew County and the Township of South Algonquin in Nipissing District). Students can be registered in any school in the District (regardless of school board) or homeschooled.

Officially (as per the RCRSF’s registration as a non-profit entity in the province of Ontario), the mission of the RCRSF is:

To encourage, inspire and support interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for the youth of Renfrew County for the purposes of:

a) Conducting an annual Regional Science Fair for students in Grades 5 to 12 in Renfrew County;

b) Providing the opportunity for students to attend the Canada Wide Science Fair, held annually;

c) Supporting teachers, parents and students with resources and guidance as it relates to science and technology projects; and

 d) other complimentary purposes not inconsistent with these objects.
