Mentorship

Where would our world be without Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)?
There would be no Internet or iPhone. Online purchasing or e-Learning wouldn’t exist. Developing vaccines for viruses such as Ebola or Zika would be nearly impossible. The face of our world, and our daily lives, would be considerably different today.
Bison Regional Science Fair (BRSF) inspires youth to discover their potential in these STEM fields, attracting bright hardworking students to grow their great ideas into initiatives they can take into the larger world.
Bison Regional Science Fair connects students to science fair experts and professionals in the scientific community who can provide knowledge, experience, and feedback during the development of a STEM project.
This year we will be moving away from a traditional, one-to-one mentorship program model and allowing students to ask questions at any time between December 1, 2023 and mid-April 2024. The intention is to give students access to a range of expertise when they most need it.
SCWIST is now an Innovation Champion sponsor of the Bison Science Fair, and their Youth Engagement team has joined forces with BRSF to design a special e-mentoring program that will meet the needs of the science fair student participants. Mentors will be guiding students as they finalize their project ideas, carry out their research, complete their projects, and present their findings. Our common goal of this mentorship program is to instill curiosity and excitement for youth in STEM .BRSF is actively making our programming more accessible for youth in rural, remote, and reserve areas of MB .Your guidance, knowledge and enthusiasm would inspire a lifelong love of science and technology.
Mentors from all university education levels (undergraduate, graduate, post-doc, etc.) are encouraged to join!
Please feel free to share this opportunity with your friends and colleagues as well. To find out more about mentorship program , or if you are interested in becoming a mentor. Please contact Dr. Bajaj at [email protected]
