Project set up is from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Depending on the number of students registered, this will be done in either the George Leach Centre OR Doc Brown Lounge (Algoma University). All projects must be completely set up within this time period. If for any reason part of the project cannot be left overnight, please arrange with the Algoma Rotary Science Fair planning committee.
Friday, April 12
Depending on the number of students registered, the fair will either proceed as an exhibition or as scheduled presentation times.
All participating grade 7 to 12 students must report to the fair site by 9:00 a.m. and be ready to present by 9:30 a.m. There will be a break in judging from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. for students to have lunch (not provided). Judging will resume from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at which time the day’s events will conclude. There will be STEM programming throughout the day.
Students will be contacted a week prior to the fair with a timeframe to attend Algoma University for their presentation to judges.
Saturday, April 13
Depending on the number or registered students, an awards ceremony may be held at 10:00 a.m. in the George Leach Centre. All students are encouraged to attend. There will be awards, cash prizes, and scholarships distributed. Projects must be taken down and away immediately following the ceremony. In the case of a smaller (scheduled presentations) fair, awards will be presented individually and arranged with each student.
