A new partnership with EF Educational Tours

For over 50 years now, Youth Science Canada has played a vital role in nurturing the scientific impulse amongst our youth—encouraging them to get their hands dirty while developing scientific and technological knowledge and skills. With that in mind, I couldn’t be more excited to tell you about our new partnership with EF Educational Tours.
Our partnership with EF speaks to our belief that the educational travel opportunities they provide educators and students are so very important. Getting students out of the classroom and showing them science in the real world is a critical component to sustaining their appreciation of scientific learning.
I know this firsthand—I recently attended EF’s Science & Innovation Summit in Berlin along with administrators from school boards from across the country. I witnessed experiential learning at its finest, as students engaged in workshops, collaborated on projects, and even got a chance to hear from Dr. Roberta Bondar. It was an event these students will never forget.
I left having seen the profound impact of this type of learning that is hard to replicate in the classroom. EF is hosting the next Leadership & Innovation Summit in Barcelona in March 2015 with keynote speaker, Physicist, Brian Cox. It’s an opportunity that I know you and your students would enjoy.
I encourage you to consider leading a group to the Summit in Barcelona, or one of EF’s other science tours in destinations such as Hawaii, Iceland, Germany, the Galapagos Islands, and more. For first time group leaders, EF will be providing a free training tour to Barcelona to familiarize yourself with the ins and outs of leading your students on a journey that is safe, inspiring and fun. Your students will also be eligible for a special Youth Science Canada discount of $175 off if they enroll before June 1, 2014.
