In two weeks’ time, Montreal will welcome 500 of Canada’s top young scientists to showcase their research and innovation as part of the Canada-Wide Science Fair. Taking place May 15-20 at McGill University, finalists will have the opportunity to engage with the broader Canadian scientific community through a variety of exciting events. Students will learn about cutting-edge research taking place at McGill University and get the chance to explore the celebrated and beautiful city of Montreal.
Expanding beyond the competition, the Canada-Wide Science Festival will then welcome the public May 18-20. Visitors will be able to explore the Project Zone, where the finalists of the Canada-Wide Science Fair will be displaying their innovations. The Discovery Zone will then open their doors to the public to allow them to explore local and national science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) organizations and initiatives. Throughout the three day event, the On the Podium Speaker Series will then showcase celebrated and inspirational leaders in Canadian innovation. In parallel to these events, the STEMpower Teachers’ Conference will welcome teachers from across the country to engage in how STEM plays a vital role in education.
It’s going to be a fantastic week of scientific exploration and national collaboration in the heart of Montreal. The members of Youth Science Canada and the local host committee are delighted to welcome you to this exciting event. Finalists and delegates can find more information about project display and the logistics of the competition on the Canada-Wide Science Fair section of the website. Additional information is also available there for visiting members of the public to learn more about the Visitors Package and public events at the Canada-Wide Science Festival. We hope to see you in Montreal!
