21 year-old Ben Gulak, who first presented his "Uno" electric unicycle as a member of Team Canada-ISEF in 2007, has been named as one of the "Nifty Fifty" speakers to be featured at the 2nd USA Science & Engineering Festival, April 27-29, 2012 in Washington, DC.

Ben's Uno was named "Invention of the Year" by Popular Science magazine in 2008 shortly before he spoke to the CWSF 2008 participants as part of "Youth Science Canada Presents..." in Ottawa. A few lucky finalists had a chance to ride the invention. Since then Ben has made several highly successful appearances on CBC's Dragons' Den, and has continued to refine the Uno's design.

Ben's latest endeavour is the DTV Shredder - a multipurpose personal transporter that has generated considerable interest for both recreational and military applications.

Watch Ben's TEDxIBYork presentation to hear his story, as presented to the International Baccalaureate school focused TEDx conference on November 11, 2010 at The York School in Toronto.

We continue to follow your success, Ben!
