  Catharine Bowman, une ancienne étudiante ayant participé à trois reprises à l’Expo-sciences pancanadienne, vient d’être sélectionnée par le magazine Avenue de Calgary parmi les 40 personnalités de moins de 40 ans qui contribuent le plus à l’essor de la ville, et ce, pour son travail sur le lymphœdème.   Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF) alumna, Catharine Bowman, was featured, in October, in Calgary Avenue’s “Top 40 under 40”. Catharine was raised in a family of CWSF alumni with her older bothers Jordan and Patrick participating before her. She participated in CWSF 2011 in Toronto as a grade seven student and returned with new projects at both CWSF 2012 in Charlottetown and 2013 in Lethbridge. Catharine also attended ISEF twice and placed 4th in Biomedical Sciences. En savoir plus

  This weekend, 45 of Canada’s brightest science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) students gathered at Toronto Pearson to embark on a journey of a lifetime to this year’s MILSET Expo-Sciences International (ESI), which takes place in Abu Dhabi, September 22 to 28. Young innovators and chaperones from every province and two territories are representing the country at this year’s edition of ESI, an international event that brings together students from nearly 60 countries to showcase the creativity of young scientists from all over the world.   Manning Whitby of Toronto received one of eight EIROforum Special Awards during this morning’s awards ceremony at EUCYS 2019 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The award, from EUROfusion, a consortium of national fusion research institutes, includes a one-week trip to the agency’s facility in Culham, UK. Whitby, together with Bhavya Mohan of Ottawa, represented Canada at the international competition, which rewards and celebrates promising young scientists from Europe and beyond, who present their projects to a panel of international judges.   Du 12 au 18 mai, Phoenix a été l’hôte de l’édition 2019 de l’Intel ISEF, ce championnat mondial des expo-sciences auquel huit élèves canadiens ont pris part. Pendant six jours, les quelque 1 800 élèves originaires de plus de 80 pays ont donné le meilleur d’eux-mêmes lors de cette compétition. Les élèves peuvent gagner des prix et des bourses d’études totalisant 5 millions de dollars lors de cet événement extraordinaire.
