Elaine is a medical practitioner specializing in family medicine at Maple Family Health Team - Oak Tree Family Health Centre in Kingston, Ontario. Elaine attended her first Canada-Wide Science Fair in 1992 in Sudbury, Ontario. She represented Canada as a finalist at three International Science and Engineering Fairs, from 1993-1995. After graduating from high school, Elaine remained involved with Youth Science Canada, serving on her Regional Science Fair Committee in various capacities, including Chair and delegate to seven Canada-Wide Science Fairs. She also served for three years on the National Science Fair Committee as Vice Chair, Chair and Past Chair. Elaine has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2005 and assumed the role of Chair in May 2010. Elaine is passionate about providing opportunities for Canadian youth. She believes that the best way to do that is for Youth Science Canada to be an effective organization, and as such, has a particular interest in policy and management within the organization.
