CWSF 2015 Ambassadors Announced

Tue, 2015-03-03 11:56 -- Dominic Tremblay

Youth Science Canada is pleased to announce the 6 alumni who have been selected to serve as Ambassadors at CWSF 2015 in Fredericton - the result of a highly competitive process involving 49 applicants. The CWSF Ambassadors are former CWSF finalists who have graduated from secondary school and who will interact with students and chaperones throughout the week. Finalists annually rate the Ambassadors as being one of most impactful elements of their CWSF experience. We look forward to this year's Ambassadors helping us to deliver Canada's premiere youth science event

Vivian Pang from Ontario will coordinate the team of Ambassadors at CWSF 2015.

Meet the Ambassadors and learn what they are most excited about to be an Ambassador.

  • Dimalka Ranasinghe - NB

Attending the 2013 CWSF was one of the most enlightening experiences of my life. Being a part of CWSF’s support team would be a great opportunity to make a positive impact on young scientists’ experience.

  • Roxane Sabourin - QC

Science fair was a determining experience for me as it allowed me to discover a world filled with interesting people that want to innovate. I can bring a lot of things to CWSF and help make this event memorable for this year's finalists.

  • Daniel O’Neil - ON

I’ve learned to interact with students and hopefully be a source of support and guidance. I hope that my own fond recollection of my years at the CWSF serve as an inspirational catalyst to current finalists to make the most of their time in Fredericton.

  • Lauren Gamble - SK

Having the perspective of former CWSF finalist gives me a holistic understanding of the students' experiences which is beneficial in assisting finalists through, what can be, a very stressful week.

  • Kyle Lefort - NS

Some of my most cherished memories are from my time as a CWSF finalist and I’m motivated to ensure that future CWSF finalists have an experience as amazing as mine. I’m most excited about all the people I’ll meet from across the country and beyond.

  • Farouk Selouani - NB

Not only can I help the finalists with science fair-related information, but also university-related information, as many of them are also preparing to graduate. If any of them have any questions about the transition to university life, I will be able to answer their questions.
